Indonesian President for 2005 - 2009: Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono

Congrats! After so many months of speculations, we have the winner! Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono aka SBY (not Surabaya or Suroboyo or even SuperBoy) is the winner and scored about 60.62% or about 69,266,350 votes. While our favorite loser runner-up (Megawati Soekarnoputri) only achieved 44,990,704 votes (39.38%) from the total registered voters.

Here is one of his picture, for those who never seen or even heard his name:

But there is something different about this time election. People have already predict that SBY is gonna win this election easily. Of course there are so many worries about his background in the military service but people said that he is no longer a military personnel. He is no different than a pure politician, or a civilian (I hope I use this term correctly). There were very strong supports from all over the place, from any level of organizations, political parties, or just common citizens (and there has been a massive support from.. maybe millions of housewives). They all already show deep respect, great support and strong hope about his leaderhip upon Indonesia to restore law, economy and social matters.

Before running for presidency, he was working for Megawati's Cabinet, serving as -I hope this is not wrong information- Minister of Politic and Security Coordination aka Menkopolkam (that's not an english word of course). Menkopolkam is an unique.. organization or governmental body where it doesn't have its own department but they do report their works and they responsible straight to the president. What does it do? Eerr.. you know, politics and securing things what are not supposed to be in the loose hehehe.. ANYWAY.... then he resigned from his post and decided to run his own campaign. That was a big surprise and shock especially from the government (maybe Megawati was choking when she heard about it hehehe) At first, people were skeptical and doubting about his decision to run a campaign against his former 'boss'. But hey, he is the winner now.

We, or at least I, still have this little hope (hey, at least I still have some) that this next government will do, fix, repair or just work their... jobs, you know. I still not giving up my hope that Indonesian will rise again. Not to be the best in South East Asia region as my high school teacher always said that crap to the whole class. But to be a better country for a living, better place to enjoy comfortable and easy way to live and holidays. Even there's still an indication: "Whoever wins, we lose.." Hehehe...

Once again, congratulations for the next upcoming government. I hope they will hear and care about the people, what they need, what they want. And the government will always do the aspirations from the people as much as they can.

Merdeka!
